1. Overview
   Word Search Maker & Player is a Google Sheets editor add-on that helps users create and play word search puzzles inside Google Sheets. This policy explains what data the add-on accesses, how it is used, where it is stored, and what choices users have.
2. Data we access (Google user data)
   When you use the add-on in Google Sheets, the add-on may access the following data within the spreadsheet where you run the add-on:

A) Google Sheets content in the active spreadsheet

• Cell values you enter (example: the word list in column A)
• Sheet names and sheet structure (example: creating or duplicating sheets)
• Formatting information (example: colors, font styling, column widths)
• Selection information needed to evaluate found words (example: the currently selected cells)

B) Google Sheets export output for PDF generation

• When you choose to generate a PDF, the add-on makes an authenticated request to a Google Sheets export endpoint to export the active sheet range as a PDF.

C) Add-on UI within Sheets

• The add-on displays a sidebar and modal dialogs (instructions, PDF generation). These UI surfaces run only inside Google Sheets.

Important clarification

• The add-on does not access your Gmail, Google Drive files list, Google Contacts, or Google Calendar.
• The add-on does not read or write files in your Drive. It does not browse your Drive.
• The add-on may copy a starter template sheet from a developer-owned template spreadsheet into your current spreadsheet. This template source is owned and managed by the developer and is not part of your Drive.

3. How we use the data
   We use accessed data only to provide the add-on’s features, including:

• Reading your word list to generate a word search grid
• Creating and formatting puzzle sheets and answer key sheets
• Checking whether your selected letters match a valid word (including reverse and diagonal selections)
• Generating a PDF printout of the active sheet upon your request
• Showing the sidebar and instruction dialogs inside Google Sheets

4. Data storage

• Your puzzle data, word lists, and generated puzzles are stored only in the Google Sheets file where you use the add-on.
• The add-on does not store your spreadsheet content on external servers.
• The add-on does not maintain a separate database of user data.

5. Data sharing and transfers

• We do not sell, rent, or share personal data.
• We do not transfer your Google user data to third-party services.
• For PDF generation, the add-on sends an authenticated request to a Google Sheets export endpoint and returns the resulting PDF to you for viewing and printing.

6. Data retention and deletion

• Because data is stored in your spreadsheet, you control retention.
• You can delete words, puzzles, or entire sheets at any time.
• You can stop using the add-on or uninstall it at any time.
• The add-on does not retain copies of your spreadsheet content outside your spreadsheet.

7. Security

• The add-on uses Google’s authentication and authorization mechanisms.
• Requests to export PDF use an OAuth token provided by Google to the running script.
• We do not store OAuth tokens or spreadsheet content on external servers.

8. Permissions and scopes
   The add-on requests only the permissions needed to operate in Sheets:

• Google Sheets access: to read and edit the active spreadsheet where you run the add-on
• Container UI: to display sidebars and dialogs inside Google Sheets
• External request: to generate PDFs via an authenticated export request

9. Compliance with Google API Services User Data Policy
   Our use of information received from Google APIs complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google user data is used only to provide or improve the add-on’s user-facing functionality, and is not used for advertising, profiling, or data resale.
10. Children’s privacy
    This add-on is intended for use in educational and general contexts. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Any content entered into the spreadsheet is provided by the user or the user’s organization and remains in the spreadsheet they control.

    We may update this policy from time to time. We will post updates on this page and update the “Last updated” date above.

1. Agreement to these Terms
   By installing or using Word Search Maker & Player, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the add-on.
2. The Service
   Word Search Maker & Player is a Google Sheets editor add-on that helps users create and play word search puzzles within Google Sheets, including optional PDF export for printing.
3. User responsibilities
   You are responsible for:

• Your use of the add-on and any content you enter into your spreadsheet
• Ensuring you have permission to use and share any words, lists, or content you place into the spreadsheet
• Reviewing generated output before distribution or printing

4. Permissions
   The add-on requires access to the active spreadsheet in which it is used in order to create and format puzzles and check word selections, and may generate PDFs via an authenticated export request. The add-on does not provide access to your Drive files list and does not store your spreadsheet content outside your spreadsheet.
5. Intellectual property
   The add-on, associated code, branding, and template materials are owned by the developer. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the add-on for its intended purpose.
6. Acceptable use
   You agree not to:

• Attempt to reverse engineer or abuse the add-on’s services in ways that interfere with normal operation
• Use the add-on in violation of applicable law
• Distribute the add-on as your own product or remove attribution where it is legally required

7. Availability and changes
   We may update, modify, or discontinue features at any time. We may also release bug fixes or improvements. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
8. Disclaimer
   The add-on is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. You use it at your own risk.
9. Limitation of liability
   To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or business arising from your use of the add-on.
10. Termination
    You may stop using the add-on at any time and may uninstall it. These Terms remain effective to the extent necessary to cover ownership, disclaimers, and limitation of liability.
